Objective
The Thunder Bay Public Library is exploring the creation of a new central library branch. The branch would be located in the InterCity Shopping Centre, specifically in the former Lowe’s location on the south side of the mall. This location has 100,000 sqft of space as well as two loading docks and an exterior space which was a former garden centre for Lowe’s. Architectural drawings of the space can be provided.
As part of the concept for the central library branch, the library is considering integrating event space into the design. Event space could be for conferences, trade shows or events of a large, medium or small nature. The library is planning on designing the library space to be flexible and modular such that we provide the full range of library services to the community but can redesign our space to accommodate events as needed.
